Who is this event for?
This event is suitable for everyone, but does require a basic level of health. Out of precaution, we advise against participation during pregnancy, or if you are epileptic due to the effect deep breathing has on your system. People with cardiovascular issues, or any other serious health conditions should always consult a medical professional before practicing deep breathing techniques or cold water swimming.
The swim portion of this class is not guided. You have access to the lake for your personal swimming practice. Anyone planning to swim will need to fill in a disclaimer on the night with South West Marine Academy staff before swimming. If you would like to see their requirements you can do so here. Those in wetsuits do not need a toe float. Those without wetsuits MUST wear a toe float. All questions about swimming should be directed to South West Marine Academy here. This is a 90 m deep open water lake filtered through layers of limestone lock.
As Cotswold Breath and Body, we see to it that the deep breathing activities are carried out safely and correctly. However, we cannot assess the health risks particular to individual participants. Participants are notified about the health risks in advance via a written statement. We point to their personal responsibility, and advise to consult their personal physician should the medical questionnaire prompt any potential issues. It is ultimately up to the participant to determine whether they are fit to take part.
